We all got the bug in Les Gets last year. Despite the crappy weather. So it seems appropriate to plan for another week in summer 2008. This thread is here to help with planning it. So...

Dates: TBD

Who's thinking of coming? We'll firm this list up as and when:

Me
Leanne
Jon
Ruth
Andy
???

Would anyone consider Whistler? The guys I went snow boarding with over New Year go boarding there and said their flights last year were only £150 which isn't much more than Geneva was.

They said the town is excellent too, worth thinking about!

I'd do both! :D

Definitely Morzine this year. I think I'd want to know that I was a better rider before doing Whistler though. It is supposed to be a great resort and great riding.

But if you or anyone else would seriously consider doing both, let me know...

I know someone that lives within spitting distance of Whistler, so I've already had the offer of a guide should I ever go! That said, funds may be limited this year; I've still no idea what my monthly 'slack' is following our house move in November as we've had all sorts of malarkey to pay for since then.

I'd like to go to Whistler, but I don't think it'll be this year for me.

I'll gladly save for a trip to Morzine/Les Gets again, but I'm not 100% convinced Ruth is that bothered - I don't think there was _that_ much that she was happy riding - the tour between Morzine and Les Gets was ok but she's not interested in the downhilling

Yeah, perhaps Whistler is a bit much this year!

I'm defo up for Morzine. I was saying to Stevie that we drove out to Flaine for boarding (think it is just a tad further over than Morzine) and it was easily do-able. It worked out £250 inc ferry, fuel and tolls for 4 of us. We just did shifts driving and it worked out nicely - Steve mentioned he has some humvee-esque new vehicle so we could go in that. It would be a shame for J^R to leave their new rides at home and not getting a spanking on some hillage.

I'm in prepr for first ride of the year, was hoping to have new forks but looks like the old ones may have to do for a bit until I can find a bargain. There are some brand new Zocchi 66 SL ATA on ebay for 250 BIN - bargain as they are 550 and lesser models resell for 350 but they are 1.5" steerer :(

I'm looking for some 2007 RC2 ETA if anyone happens to find some at a good price...

Leanne should be coming meaning some company for Ruth if she doesn't fancy the riding too much. I don't expect that Leanne will do much riding, although I might be able to convince her to try a green. Otherwise, she's mainly up for some walking and such in the mountains.

It's partly why I thought to go for Morzine rather than Les Gets. I reckon there's more to do there for those who aren't biking, but it's easy enough to get to Les Gets and the jump park.

My buttocks are clenched just thinking about your first attempt, that put me right off having a go as I knew thats what I would do!

I may order some special brown safety pants.

Oh yeah what is your Facebook muttering about, is it offshore developers, as thats my experience of them..

no it's our client account manager - i've had to tell her 3 days in a row about a particular customer and their receipt of the data for the dubai carnival...

that first attempt felt a lot better than it looked - never felt close to going over :)

I was deeply ashamed to not ride it last time! I must practice doing drop-offs in preparation. Anything much over a foot just psychs me out. :(
